Obsidian Entertainment has announced the final update for their tiny backyard survival game, Grounded, introducing the New Game+ mode, also called remixed yards, a new Ant Queen, and the long-awaited PlayStation and Switch releases.
Grounded’s final update will introduce a new gameplay feature that offers players a unique twist to their experience. The New Game+ mode will bring new combat challenges to the game. However, it is not an easy task to unlock this mode as you will be required to defeat multiple bosses, including the Broodmother, Mantis, Wasp Queen, and survive the Javamatic fight.
One of the main highlights is the raw science essence-infused creatures, making them not only stronger but also faster. Upon defeating one of these insects, you will be rewarded with special trinkets that come with random properties that will help you survive. Enemies will spawn in other locations than you are used to as well.

In these remixed yards, you will be able to purchase the yoking station from the advanced system library, where you can upgrade your weapons to an even higher level than what would be possible in the regular game.
Grounded features three ant colonies, and in the upcoming update, each will have a leader: the Ant Queen, who can be found deep within their hills. Once you find her, you’ll have a choice: will you befriend or betray her? Depending on your decision, you will receive different loot, and the ants of that group will react differently as well.
The 1.4 update will also include full Japanese voice-overs, new achievements, a new mutation to play around with, twelve Ant Queen-related building pieces, multiple baby ant pets, and cross-play support between Xbox, Playstation, Switch, and PC.
The final update will be live on the 16th of April alongside the release of the Playstation and Switch versions.
