Obsidian Entertainment just released the final update before their tiny survival game Grounded leaves early access. Homestretch is the name of the update and it comes with interesting changes they wanted to release before the full release that is coming on September 27th later this year.

Shared Worlds

Shared Worlds is probably one of the biggest features that all cooperative survival games need. You can host up to three worlds at once even while being offline. When you share a world it will be saved to the cloud and anyone with access to this world will be able to join even when you are not there, making it perfect for if you have to leave but your friend wants to finish something in the world. When you accept an invitation to join a world you can have up to 50 other worlds on your list.

Pets

During the two-year anniversary live stream a few months back they announced you will be able to tame a gnat and it is finally here. By giving the new rotten meat slurry to a gnat they will get tamed and you can keep them as a pet.

Cooking

By buying the new “cooking 101” upgrade at the science shop you can now cook dishes at the cookery. Cooking food in this station will fill you up more as well as provide the player with special buffs. This will be an early game upgrade and replace the oven giving you the ability to become a chef almost at the start of the game.

The rest of the update is bug fixes, minor armor and weapon changes.
