Icarus, a PvE Survival game where you try to survive on an earth-like planet, has released its latest update, which introduces additional carved wood decorations and improved photo mode.
The first Carved wood update was back in Week Seventy-Six, which introduced the first six pieces of interior décor to build. Now, Week Eighty-Four brings the next six pieces.
Included in this update is the addition of three new tables: A round table, a long six-seater dining table, and an even longer 10-person Dining table, so you should have enough table space for all your friends.
And not just new tables, but they have also added a Carved Wood Dining chair, so your friends don’t have to just sit on the tables.
Now that your friends have a place to sit, it might be time to set the mood for that favorite someone with the new Carved Wood candle, and if you’re looking for something a bit more appealing, you can even make the new Carved Wood Desk lamp. It’s not the cheapest thing to craft, but it does say opulence.

If your walls look a little barren, then look no further than the new update, as they have also added a new Carved Wood Shelf to show off your little knickknacks. Of course, one of the drawbacks of the new shelf, and probably a little over site by the developers, is that you cannot place it on the fireplace and make a sweet mantle.
Now that you have built the perfect little home, it’s time to show it off with the updated Photo Mode. They have increased the tether distance, allowing you a wider variety of shooting angles and subjects. They have also made a few smaller tweaks as well, allowing you to manually set the photo mode parameters past what the sliders allow, smoothing out the FOV mouse scrolling, and even adding the ability to change the speed of the camera smoothly while it is in motion.
You might have noticed that the release of the update came a day early. That’s because New Zealand is the home of RocketWerkz, the team behind Icarus. They will be celebrating the Matariki, A public Maori time of remembrance for the dead and their ascension into the stars Celebrating the present by having a feast and sharing the bounty of a good harvest. And a time of reflection and of the future.
And to share a little bit of enlightenment, light sources will now also auto-equip into your light slot.
Icarus has had a rocky time, but the reviews have gotten better with the most recent updates. What have been your experiences with Icarus? Let me know in the comments below.
