Medieval Survival ‘Bellwright’ Launches This December

Wrongly accused, you return home to take down a tyrant.

Making its first appearance as a demo at the Steam Next Fest earlier this year, Bellwright has received a lot of positive impressions, and the developers have announced that its early access release coming in December.

Bellwright is an open world, co-op, survival crafting and settlement-building game set in the harsh climate of the Middle Ages, where you will need to gather and hunt to survive and fend off roving bands of bandits as you try to build a thriving settlement.

While you build up your settlement, other villagers will come to join you, which will help you collect resources and build needed goods. You will need to try to manage the wellbeing of your citizens in an ever-changing world. While you interact with other factions, make alliances, and even establish trade routes to keep your settlement flourishing,

But not everything is wheat fields and bonfires; you will need to train up villagers into mighty fighters that will follow you into battle to fend off bandits and others who wish your settlement harm. You will be in the thick of combat with Mount and Blade-style directional combat.

As with all things, you will become better at tasks, and your skills and attributes will increase the more you use your skills, such as harvesting, farming, animal handling, and the martial skills of using different types of weapons.

As a child, you were in the woods when you observed the price of the local king getting killed by a wayward arrow. The princess saw you in the area and alerted that you may be the one who killed the prince. You ran away and told your father what happened, and he whisked you away to keep you safe. The king became enraged and took his wrath to the people, even slaughtering any children who looked like you. Now you have returned to the area where you were born to survive, thrive, and take down the tyrant in power.
