Mojang has released the long-awaited Trails and Tales update for their popular blocky survival game, Minecraft. In this latest addition to the game, you can find a new biome, building blocks, mobs, and an all-new game mechanic.

Discover more blocks and a new biome

Bamboo can now be crafted together to make doors, fences, walls, and more similar to wooden planks. Different sign designs have been added, depending on which side of the block you place the sign will determine what it will look like. A new type of bookshelf has been added. Unlike the one already in the game, this new variant can be interacted with. Books can be stored in its inventory, the more you add to the shelf the stronger the redstone signal will be. 

A new biome has been added to Minecraft called the cherry grove. In this new area, you will be able to find the newly added pink cherry trees and a new type of petals. The new logs work the same as any other and can be crafted into the same items allowing you to add a pink flare to your builds. The new pink petals can be placed on the ground with up to four on one block.

Dig up ancient mysteries

Archeology is a new game mechanic that allows the player to dig up lost treasure. While exploring temples and ruins you can now find suspicious sand or gravel and when using the new brush tool on them you can find different items. Most of the time you get one of the new pottery sherds. These can be crafted together to make a new decorative pot. There is a small chance to find a Sniffer egg buried below. Hatching this gives a new mob called the Sniffer. This ancient beast digs around in the dirt, unearthing old seeds that the player can plant for some new flowers. 

Another new mob added to the 1.20 update is the camel. This animal can be found in the desert and you can ride it with two players.

Personalize the way you look with the new custom armor trims. In total, there are over 200 billion different color and pattern combinations to add to your armor. The patterns can be found in the various dungeons across the world. While colors can be added by using ores like iron or copper on them.
