Odinsoft has released the first major update to their challenging open-world survival game Survival: Fountain of Youth. The Captain’s Trail adds the long-awaited third region with three new islands to explore, iron weapons and tools, enemies, and a boss.
The story continues, pointing to a new set of islands. This area was home to the Puma tribe, which was the physically strongest of the four tribes. So expect a difficult time ahead.
Iron Island as the name implies is home to many iron deposits. Mining it, however, won’t be such a simple task. On top of this island is an active volcano with lava rivers flowing down the side, making it dangerous to move around.
Craggy Island is home to a formidable great jackal. This big guy is the new boss-type enemy and will take some tough weapons to take it down. As if the odds were not stacked against you enough already, the boss also has minions that attack the player, making this a battle unlike any other in the game.

Foggy Island is a creepy place filled with shipwrecks. Among these wrecks are treasures to be found.
Besides the jackal, there are other new animals. The electric stingray joins the shark and jellyfish in the water, making underwater exploration even more dangerous. But with danger also comes reward, there are hidden treasure chests to be discovered underwater.
With the addition of iron, the player can craft a new tier of weapons and tools. You can upgrade your current equipment like the spear, axe, and pickaxe. However, there is also a new ranged weapon added to the game, the crossbow. It’s slow but packs a punch.
For those who do not want to take part in a one-on-one fight with an animal, a hunting trap has been added. You can build these near the spawn location of what you are trying to hunt, and if you come back later it will have caught something.
A new vessel can be constructed named the schooner.

Base building has gotten an upgrade, you are now able to build tier 2 buildings that use planks instead of logs.
The fourth-tier skills are now available along with new tasks, more crafting recipes, and skill books to find.
What island are you planning to explore first? Let me know in the comments.
