From the developer Nordic Trolls, Under a Rock is shaping up to be possibly one of the most beautiful and unique survival games out there.
With it being an open-world experience, there is a lot to explore, and recently the developers have let us know of some of the ways we can get around an exotic island.
Walking is one of the slowest and most straightforward ways of traveling. However, sometimes you are going to come across a creature that looks cuddly, but if you get too close to it, you might see its big open jaws, which leads to the second ethos of traveling: running!

There is much to explore on land, but don’t forget to look underwater, where you might come across shipwrecks, enigmatic ruins, new resources, and even underwater caves to explore. Just be warned: creepy creatures can also be found in the deep, so you might want to learn how to swim faster.
Recently, thanks to games like Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the next popular travel method is gliding. Once crafted, you can travel short distances, but as you raise your gliding level, you’ll be able to rule the skies and jump from the highest mountain, covering a lot of ground in the process.
Climbing is another travel method well-known in games such as Conan Exiles. Under a Rock takes free climbing to a whole other level by allowing you the freedom to climb almost everything, from trees to your house, mountains, and more. This includes being able to travel from almost any angle you can think of. There are even hints of climbing gear to make it even more effective.

Now, we are getting to two of my favorite methods of traveling: grappling and creature riding. Grappling will allow you to make the world your playground and feel like Spider-Man. With your trusty grappling hook, you can hook onto almost anything that can bear your weight. Shoot it at a palm tree, hit the leaves, and it will go right through. Hit the trunk, and get ready to swing into action, looking for the next item to connect with before descending.
While traveling the land, you will come across many exotic animals that you can befriend, build a bond with, and ride. Whether it’s a Snugget, a Dodo, a Bee, or one of the other more elusive creatures, each comes with its own method of travel, combat skills, and even the ability to carry more than others. Learn what each can do and build a stable of pets to use, choosing the one that best fits your situation.
Each of these travel methods comes with different levels of required skills, stamina drain, and even repairs, such as the grappling hook and glider. Some can even be affected by the weather, leading to both positive and negative effects.
Which of these travel methods do you like the most? Let me know in the comments below.
