What It Means to Be a Trucker in Survival Simulator ‘Alaskan Road Truckers’

Life on the road ain't easy.

Road Studio S.A., the developers behind Alaskan Road Truckers, has revealed new details about the game and what it means to survive as a trucker.

The goal of Alaskan Road Truckers is to give the player the complete trucking experience. You won’t only be a truck going through Alaska; you’ll also be the driver, with the ability to exit the car and engage with the environment.

Being a human driver involves having some duties, such as managing your health, getting enough sleep, and eating wholesome foods, because just like maintaining your vehicle you must maintain yourself.

When out and about in the Alaskan wilderness, with night rolling in and the temperature dropping, having your truck run out of gas or breaking down on the side of the road could spell disaster, so you will have to perform maintenance on your own vehicle. Make sure your gas tank is full, and your fluids are topped off.

A successful trucking business will require you to put in the time and effort, conserve money, and ensure that you have what you need to complete your next delivery. In the beginning, you will only have a small garage and a basic truck, but with some hard work and some luck you will be able to buy bigger trucks and have a full trucking complex filled with every tool you can imagine. But till then, you’ll make deliveries, encounter and converse with NPCs visit stores, and pick up some travel snacks and more.

Each season will provide its own difficulties in the stunning and hazardous Alaskan terrain. Your windshield wipers may freeze and become stuck when you’re driving through the bitter weather, making it impossible for you to see where you’re going. You’ll need to stop, get out, and change the blades just as in real life.

You won’t care if a tree falls in the forest, but you will notice if one does so in the middle of the road. Do you backtrack and take a different path to get there and run the risk of missing the delivery window? Have you brought your reliable chainsaw? Then exit the truck and take charge of the problem yourself, but watch out, so you don’t become hypothermic and expose yourself to illness.
