The Shroud you thought you knew has transformed once again in Thralls of Twilight, the sixth major update for Enshrouded, which introduces changes to the game world and adds a bunch of new content.
Beneath the dark mist of the Shroud lies a wealth of new resources. You will uncover twenty‑eight crafting materials ranging from armor tint palettes to confusion grenades, alongside two beam spells, repair kits and cures for lingering curses. Corrupted soil makes it possible to cultivate Shroud tentacles at your base, offering both a bizarre decoration and an ever-looming risk within the comfort of your home.
Venturing deeper brings new dangers: Shroud Depthdwellers and Shroud Stalkers. While The Fell Critter Queen and her brood remind you that nowhere is safe, and Tentacle Brain creatures add a new level of grotesque intelligence to the mix. Hazard slimes ooze unpredictably, and the Shroud Gazer’s unblinking stare will test your nerve.

Exploration has also expanded outside the mist. Nomad Highlands and Kindlewastes now have richer terrain, with reworked landscapes, denser vegetation and improved textures. Camps and ruins feature more environmental storytelling, enemy placements feel purposeful and roadsides teem with subtle detail. Even transitions into the Shroud have grown smoother, letting sense and suspense build without interruption.
A brand‑new gem system offers twenty‑one stones to slot into weapons for passive bonuses. Whether you seek elemental fury or calculated precision, the right combination can redefine your combat approach. Gathering rare materials in the Shroud remains your gateway to increased power, so don’t expect these enhancements to arrive on a silver platter.
Nighttime is no longer an invitation to rest. Upgraded global illumination turns darkness into a dynamic battlefield where enemy patrols roam and ambushes become all the more thrilling. Sixteen mysterious temples open only under moonlight, each hiding unique perils and generous rewards. Night‑exclusive flora waits to be harvested, fueling fresh consumables and crafting possibilities for those daring enough to wander after sunset.
Now you can grow tentacles 😳

Customisation has received its own makeover. Three new armor sets join the crafting list so you can match your playstyle with your appearance. The coloring station now offers forty palettes, allowing you to dye both armor and outfits. Armor pieces can be hidden individually, and Elio the Barber stands ready to reshape hair, beards and eye color. He even doubles as surgeon, in case your experiments go awry.
For those who prefer companionship over solitude, crane birds can be tamed and raised, providing feathers for crafting and, if updates proceed as hoped, a warm beaked hug. Combat itself has smoothed out across the board, with faster wand fire rates and two new beam channel spells: one for damage, one for healing.
As the game’s release draws closer with the recently revealed roadmap, the developers are committed not only to adding new content but also to bringing major improvements to Enshrouded.
