Forever Skies, the post-apocalyptic survival game that led us back to a destroyed Earth while we soared high in the skies, striving to eke out survival while peering through the perpetual mist known as the Underdust, has just released a new developer update detailing what we can expect next.
We are scientists sent on a mission to explore what’s under the dust and hopefully come up with a cure to save humanity and the planet. This new section will allow us to explore a much larger area with open spaces and unique locations, more things to discover, and a new look.
With the expanded graphical enhancements and optimizations, the Underdust map has never looked so good. With the wide-open spaces, we can see the wreckage of cars and buildings and even peer high into the sky and see the dimmed lights of skyscrapers. What we didn’t see were the arrows from the original map, showing us the way, leading me to believe that we can explore our heart’s contents instead of in a linear fashion.
The answers lie in the depths

Forever Skies has shared some of the new Underdust map locations that will have expansive open spaces to explore, big secrets to uncover, and many rare plants to find for your airship garden.#foreverskies @flyforeverskies pic.twitter.com/T1uvHsrEJc
Gardening has been one of the biggest parts of this upcoming update. With different-sized pots, seeds, and more fertilizers to make, some planets need nutrients from the Underdust. Once you gather those items, we can further build up our production with water tanks, distillers, and a network of pipes and sprinklers to bring the water where it’s needed.
While the developers continue to work on the early release of the game, they are trying to add as much as they can before the full 1.0 release scheduled for later this year, with the PS5 and PC releases happening at the same time.
After the Gardening update is launched, the team will begin to set their focus on the co-op mode, along with new hull designs, better optimization for the larger ships and stairs, and even mod support, which will possibly make an appearance later in the future.
What do you think about the new section of the map? Let me know in the comments below.
