Nightingale: A First Glimpse into Character Customization Possibilities

The first community event and other exciting details about the game.

Nightingale held its first in-person community event at the most recent Gamescon, where some content creators and media agencies got to see a live demo of the game.

If you were able to make it to Gamescon and to the Nightingale booth, you would have had the privilege to see a life-size portal, along with some awesome cosplayers showing off their costumes of Puck and the Lady in Red, now named Scarlet Lady.

Nightingale originally had an early access release date schedule for near the end of 2023, but Community Coordinator Maribel Diaz let us know that during the last year of production on the game, Nightingale has changed significantly during that time, due to the feedback and contributions they have received from the community. Pushing the release date will allow the team to finish what they are working on, tidy up some of the rough edges, take a little time off for the holidays, and come back and get ready for the release. It is very important for the team to fulfill their vision of Nightingale and to deliver on the expectations of the community.

Some of the quality-of-life features that we will be seeing are a greatly expanded character creation system and even the ability to customize individual eye colors. You can devote a significant amount of time to personalizing a character, but sometimes you just want to jump right into the action, so that’s why they will even have some character presets you can take to get you into the game even faster.

In addition, they will be adding the ability to hold the action button to continue an action such as chopping wood or the ability to mass collect items by holding a button to allow even physically limited players to enjoy the game.

The most recent closed alpha test that ran from August 25th to September 5th was one of their largest, with over 7k players and 1 player amassing 194 hours in the game.

Another playtest is planned before launch, but no date has yet been announced. Are you looking forward to it? Let me know in the comments below.
